Societal Nation® , Place

Place.

The collective is not built in meeting rooms. It is born where people truly talk.

The observation

Around the company, there are places where something forms that no meeting ever produces.

The small restaurant, the petanque ground, the padel court, the gym. Places where leaders meet, where partners truly speak, where teams weave something beyond the functional. Just as every community has its edifice, a church, a mosque, a temple, the company and its stakeholders have their own places. That is where true things are said. Where the cry of the collective is born, often first in a small circle, before it gathers.

Non-Places. Introduction to an Anthropology of Supermodernity, 1992

The anthropologist distinguishes the place, identity-bearing, relational and charged with history, from the non-place, that anonymous space of transit, the airport, the motorway, the open space, where, in his words, the interchange forbids the encounter. The challenge for the company: cultivating true places, when the age mostly produces non-places.

What plays out there

Where the bond is formed.

01

Truly knowing one another

Outside the frame, the masks fall. One understands who the other is, what they seek, what moves them.

02

Giving birth to the collective

The bond starts small, in a core group, then widens. The place is the cradle of the "we".

03

Inscribing a history

Places mark a journey, that of the person and that of the company. One remembers where one decided, celebrated, held on.

The place grows

A history that extends.

The place evolves with the company. From the village to the city, from the city to the metropolis, from France to the world. At every stage, new places, new bonds, a history that extends without denying itself.

The place gathers. What remains is to name what unites us.
